Waffle cake with condensed milk is the favorite cake of my childhood. No bake! Super easy, fast, and awesomely tasty!
When I was little, my mom boiled the sweetened condensed milk directly in a can surrounded in water for about 2 hours, and only after cooling it for another hour, the can could be opened and eaten.
Keep in mind that some cans can’t be boiled, so please read the instruction carefully, as it may explode. Therefore, if you can buy premade dulce de leche or sgushenka varenaya, then you will save time, and potential explosions.
Let’s start.
I buy the cooked condensed milk from the Russian or Polish store-deli. However, you can also find it under Dulce de Leche in many grocery stores.
Ingredients:
1 can of cooked sweetened condensed milk (in Russian store is called "sgushenka varenaya").
1 cup of walnuts, pistachios or other nuts that you like, finely chopped.
1 pkg of unsalted butter – 1lb.
1 pkg of plain wafers-these are also purchased from the Russian/polish stores.
For the cream : mix soft butter with the cooked condensed milk.
Until the consistency becomes smooth
Chop your preferred nuts. You can do this step with a food processor or manually.
Frost every wafer with the prepared cream
Then sprinkle it with the chopped nuts.
Add a wafer and repeat the steps above, until you run our of wafers.
Let the cake sit for at least two hours to let the cream absorb.
Keep the cake in the refrigerator. I hope you enjoy. This cake is the most delicious and easy cake you will ever make!
